Each of these videos was made with an iPhone, a tripod, and Adobe Premiere. Unfortunately, they were also all shot during quarantine, which meant I had to be in front of the camera, as well.

    PlanetFriendly2020

Working first on paper and later in Photoshop, I created the characters, props, and sets for this sci-fi-inspired stop motion satire ahead of the 2020 election.

I kept the rough edges and set the frame rate to 12fps in Adobe Premiere Pro to reflect the charm of the stop motion seen in early sci-fi films, like the ones on Creature Double Feature.

It is a style I have come to love and am working to refine.

Stop Motion Video

It might seem a rudimentary setup, but working with my iPhone laying flat against the glass worktop allowed me to avoid any reflection from my lighting sources while shooting for my stop motion film.

Still, the experience of making this film has helped me to refine my process for my next project, which I will include on this site when it is complete.
